New Ditch Witch SK3000 Cage-Free Skid Steer Boasts Best-In-Class Power
Ditch Witch says its new SK3000 is the company’s most powerful and largest stand-on skid steer to date, providing operators with a lift capacity of 3,100 pounds (1,406 kilograms) and support for up to 51 horsepower (38 kilowatts) to attachments. The equipment manufacturer also designed the stand-on skid steer with no cage to provide underground construction workers, landscapers, and other industry professionals with a clear view of the jobsite, as well as the convenience of not climbing into and out of the cab.
A Convenient Alternative
Compared to a full-size skid steer, the SK3000 is lightweight at 7,600 pounds (3,447 kilograms), a feature that makes the stand-on skid steer easier for transport and maneuverability. But when it comes to power, the SK3000 can take on projects typically suited for full-size skid steers and compact track loaders. Ditch Witch rates the SK3000 to deliver 5,500 pounds (2,495 kilograms) of breakout force, for instance, to help operators lift and move heavy loads with a bucket. An optional dual self-leveling kit is also available for jobs where loads need to be kept level when they are raised or lowered.
Productivity Features
Ditch Witch powers the SK3000 with a 59-horsepower (44-kilowatt) Yanmar turbocharged diesel engine to help it handle a wide-range of jobs. The advanced hydraulic system comes with 8-, 14-, and 22-gallons-per-minute flow settings to let operators select the right flow for each job. The process of switching hydraulic attachments is simple, as well, thanks to hydraulic-operated attachment pins. Ditch Witch also installs its patent-pending Smart Throttle feature to match engine speed to load demands for greater fuel efficiency and productivity.
