New Mechanical Angle Blade Available For Deere 950K & 1050K Crawler Dozers
John Deere’s 950K and 1050K crawler dozers can now take advantage of a productivity-boosting, three positional mechanical angle blade that can be manually angled from side to side. Deere both designs and manufactures the new mechanical angle blade, and the recent redesign is said to improve the blade profile, better shed material, and reduce the likelihood of blade plugging. Deere says the approach angle on new mechanical blade has been increased by 29% vs. the previous offering.
Feedback Driven
“The new mechanical angle blades were designed based on feedback from contractors in the pipeline industry,” says Nathan Horstman, product marketing manager, crawler dozers, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “Understanding the crippling impact downtime can have, we designed the John Deere mechanical blade to be stronger and more durable. From performance improvements to features that provide better serviceability, our customers can be confident when running a machine equipped with the new blade option.”
More Durable, Too
To improve durability, Deere changed the routing on the hydraulic hoses and redistributed some weight from the blade to the C-frame, the latter resulting in a more balanced machine. The new design also includes industry-exclusive bushed angle pins. The hardened pins, when coupled with the heavy-duty and hardened bushings in the C-frame, are said to provide better long-term serviceability.
Adjustable To The Job
Operators can configure the blade using pin points on the push beams, and the additional control makes the angle blade ideal for work like backfilling, rough grading, and general earthmoving with precision. Deere also optimized the blade width and height for use on the 950K and 1050K crawler dozers.
