Deere Adds Level Best PD Skid Steer Box Blades To Its Referral Attachments Lineup
John Deere has approved three new Level Best grading attachments manufactured by ATI Corporation to its referral program. This lets the company’s Construction & Forestry wing sell the laser-controlled box blades, Level Best branding intact, with John Deere Financial providing low-rate financing. The three attachment models, compatible with Deere skid loaders, are the PD-72, PD-84, and PD-96, with respective widths of 72 inches (1.83 meters), 84 inches (2.13 meters), and 96 inches (2.44 meters). Level Best will service the box blades after the sale.
“We pride ourselves on providing cutting-edge solutions to our customers that enhance job site output and maximize ROI,” says John Deere program manager of global attachments, Jessica Hill. “From laser grading parking lots to rebuilding golf course tees, owners and operators will find that there are endless uses for our new Level Best box blade referral attachments.”
Precise Grading Automatically
The Level Best box blades use laser and other sensors, along with satellite-measured vertical reference points, to determine their position in regard to the desired grade. Then, the PD series models use two cylinders to adjust the lift and tilt of the cutting edge dozens of time per second, the manufacturer says. The attachments require 0.5-inch (12.7-millimeter) quick-connect couplers and a 14-pin auxiliary electrical connection.
Level Best says that it designed the PD series specifically for the short wheelbase and “push-pull directional work style” of skid steers. Its frame reduces the up-and-down "bounce" tendency of skid loaders when used with attachments, according to the manufacturer. Adding a rear counterweight is optional but helps to stabilize the machine, Deere says.
The Level Best PD box blades are available ready to install with Topcon 2D (laser) precision grading and 3D (GPS, robotic total stations, or sonic) fine grading options. Deere says buyers can use their existing Topcon GPS systems already in place.
