Snorkel Introduces Low-Stow & Narrow Scissor Lifts At CRA Rental Rally Show

    Posted On: January 24, 2020

Earlier this week, lift and aerial work platform manufacturer Snorkel showcased a dozen of its products at the California Rental Association’s CRA Rental Rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the lifts the company unveiled for the first time in the United States is the S3019E electric scissor lift, which has a remarkably low step-in height of just 22 inches (56 centimeters).

Also on display at the Snorkel booth—the largest at the CRA equipment and party rental show—were a narrow S2755RT rough-terrain scissor lift, a Snorkel E-Z Loader EZ12 custom delivery truck bed, a TM16E telescopic mast personnel lift, an A38E articulated boom lift, and a 460SJ telescopic boom lift. Rental companies also had the opportunity to enter a drawing to win an S3010P push-around mini scissor lift, which can lift a 430-pound (195-kilogram) load to a working height of 15 feet, 10 inches (4.8 meters).

    The Low Step-In S3019E

Snorkel’s S3019E, new to the American market, completely stows its scissor stack inside its chassis when its platform is lowered. Snorkel says the new lift is the first in the industry to incorporate this innovative feature, and credits it with the lift’s ease of entry compared to other lifts with much greater stowed platform heights. The electric S3019E is only 69 in (1.75 m) tall when stowed, and its 43.3-inch (1.1-m), ANSI/SIA A92.2X-compliant handrails don’t need to be folded down to fit through doorways. Maximum working height is 25 ft (7.6 m) for the 3,485-lb (1,580-kg) lift, which can hoist up to 550 lbs (250 kg).

    The Skinny S2755RT

Also new to the CRA Rental Rally was Snorkel’s S2755RT rough-terrain scissor lift. Its claim to fame is a narrow 4 ft, 9 in (1.45-m) width, which lets it fit into tight quarters where a standard lift would be too wide. The thin S2755RT is towable by light commercial vehicles, and it can tackle grades of up to 35%. The 6,062-lb (2,750-kg) lift has a maximum working height of 32 ft, 4 in (9.86 m).

The E-Z Loader delivery truck bed has a bed capacity of 12,000 lbs (5,440 kg), a dove tail capacity of 8,000 lbs (3,630 kg), and a tow capacity of 5,000 lbs (2,270 kg). E-Z Loader beds, available in three sizes, have a long, knife-edged ramp for easy loading and can also be loaded at a dock. Snorkel says that its ramp’s short 17-second deployment time keeps deliveries and pickups from delaying traffic overlong.
