Hyster recently introduced a new cab for several of its high-capacity forklift trucks, including models in the H8-18XD Big Truck line, which includes lifts with capacities ranging from 19,000 to 105,000 pounds (8.6 to 47.6 metric tons). Hyster describes the cab as a “cockpit-style workplace” designed to put controls built into the armrest and relevant information displayed on a seven-inch touchscreen literally “at the driver’s fingertips.” The inside of the cab is also quieter, which Hyster says helps drivers maintain concentration during long shifts. Operators will benefit from improved visibility, as well, thanks to front and rear windows, a top window, a slim line frame, and a sliding seat that “enables the operator to change the line of sight,” Hyster explains.

    More Comfortable

“The new cab combines traditional ergonomic fundamentals with the latest technology advances,” says Lyndle McCurley, Vice President, Big Trucks, Hyster Company. “Our customers are constantly pushed to get more out of a limited labor pool. The tools and design of this new cabin can help boost labor efficiency and keep operators more comfortable and focused all shift long.”

    Other Standout Features

The new cab also includes an adjustable control arm that features either a Joystick or a series of Touchpoint mini levers and a wrist cushion for a more comfortable operating experience. Other features and options include Automatic Truck Shutdown, blue LED pedestrian awareness lights, automatic parking brakes, tyre pressure monitoring systems, telematics systems, and more. The new cab is available on the H190-360XD, H360XD36 and H360XD48 models in North America, as well on the following models in Europe: H8-12XD6 / H190-280XD, H13-16XD6 / H300-360XD, H6-7XDEC3/4 / H150XD-EC4, H16XD9/12 / H210-250XD48, and H18XD7.5/9 / H360-36/48XD.
