Bobcat To Launch Its Largest Slate Of New Products At CONEXPO

Bobcat says it will debut more products, technologies, and services than ever before at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show March 10-14 in Las Vegas. Among them will be three lithium-ion electric concept machines, namely the E17e electric/hydraulic excavator, the S70e electric/hydraulic loader, and the T76e all-electric loader, an industry-first. The compact machinery manufacturer will also be selling and giving away products to benefit at-risk veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project, including Bombas work boot socks, a limited-edition WWP scale-model loader, and a $75,000 T76 R-series track loader.

“We are thrilled to show CONEXPO attendees from around the world what compact equipment and our industry will look like in the years to come,” says Scott Park, Doosan Bobcat’s CEO. “We will demonstrate our innovative products and technologies and share our strong commitment to helping people—our customers, dealers and communities—accomplish more.”

    L23 & L28 Small Articulated Loaders

With the new L23 and L28, Bobcat is entering the small articulated loader (aka “dumper”) market. The mighty mites are compact and light enough for use on backyard turf, yet strong enough to remove trees and snow. The L28 has a dual-cylinder telescoping boom arm that minimizes rollback and keeps the load level during bucket movement.

    R-Series Compact Loaders

The new R-Series line of compact loaders include the tracked T76 and the wheeled S76. Bobcat says they’re the most powerful and durable loaders it builds. At the same time, the R-Series improves on operator visibility and comfort. Options include a Touch Display control panel, four-corner LED lighting, and mesh-free side windows.

    R2-Series Compact Excavators

The new R2-Series of Bobcat mini excavators debuts with the 5-ton (4.5-metric-ton) E42 and the minimal tail swing, 5.5-t (5-mt) E50. Bobcat gave them more efficient engines, better cold-weather operation, and improved uptime protection. A heated seat and new, low-effort joysticks enhance operator comfort. The depth check-ready machines’ fast-cycling hydraulic control valve enables precise motions.

    E145 Excavator

Bobcat’s new E145 is a large excavator with excellent cab space, but with a reduced tail swing and maneuverability for confined work areas. It offers the power to do heavy digging and lifting and the speed for quick cycle times, the company says.

Bobcat will launch an even bigger excavator this spring, its largest on offer. Still, the new E165 will still be light enough for easy transport, according to the manufacturer.

    CT2540 Compact Tractor

Bobcat’s compact tractor line offers standard four-wheel drive, 3-point hitches, rear PTO, and more for farms and ranches. A variety of tire and transmission options and an even more extensive selection of quick-attach implements and attachments stand ready to take on acreage and agricultural chores. The new 37.6-horsepower CT2540 with a premium cab and a hydrostatic transmission joins the 21- to 58-hp family of tractors, currently at 15 members.

    Technology & Services

New services and advanced features from Bobcat improve operation in a number of ways. The Bobcat MaxControl mobile technology suite can turn a smartphone into a wireless remote control for a machine. The suite includes Known Object Avoidance geofencing and Programmed Navigation to set GPS waypoints for the machine to travel. Meanwhile, Bobcat Machine IQ is a telematics system that reports critical machine data over a mobile device or through the Bobcat Owner Portal.

Another Bobcat innovation is Features On Demand, which allows buyers to pay less for an R-Series compact loader with certain features disabled. Later, if owners want to unlock particular features that would be useful to them, they can pay a modest fee to activate them. The current list of Features On Demand includes automatic ride control, dual-direction bucket positioning, high-flow auxiliary hydraulics, reversibility of the cooling fan, and 2-speed travel.

Finally, the Bob-Dock automated mounting system allows for swapping hydraulic attachments using an in-cab switch. It doesn’t preclude manual connection and disconnection of attachments via the standard couplers. Bob-Dock is available for certain M2-Series skid-steer and track loaders, as well as the A770 all-wheel-steer loader.
