Maniobras Especializadas Receives Grove TMS500-2 Telescopic Boom Truck Crane At CONEXPO
Based in Villahermosa, Mexico, Maniobras Especializadas is a labor outsourcing company with specialties in logistics and warehouse services, and at CONEXPO/CON-AGG 2020, the company received its latest acquisition: a Grove TMS500-2 telescopic boom truck crane. The 40-ton (36-metric-ton) crane was also display at the Manitowoc booth during the show.
Versatility
Boasting a lighter gross vehicle weight than its predecessor, Grove’s TMS500-2 is designed to provide quick setup and support a wide range of taxi crane capabilities. The Cummins ISL9 engine, for example, allows for highway speed travel of up 65 mph (105 km/h) and the six-cylinder turbocharged and after-cooled diesel engine can produce 350 brake horsepower and 261 kilowatts at 2,000 rpm.
Crane Features
The TMS500-2 is available with two four-section boom options, either from 29 feet to 95 feet (8.8 to 29 meters) or 32 to 102 ft (9.8 to 31 m). The synchronized, full-power boom supports an optional extension that brings maximum tip height to either 128.2 ft (39 m) or 134 ft (41 m). There are three outrigger position settings and an auto-leveling system. To improve accuracy and serviceability, Grove equips the outriggers with smart, length-sensing extension cylinders. The TMS500-2 comes with removable counterweight inserts, which helps create a lightweight travel configuration with two counterweight packages available: 8,000 and 5,500 pounds (3,629 and 2,495 kilograms).
The Crane Control System
Grove’s CCS (Crane Control System) features hardware and software that integrates with the RCL (Rated Capacity Limiter) to create one cohesive system. Parts for the crane are common across Grove, Manitowoc, and Potain product lines to enhance operator familiarization and serviceability.
