New John Deere 700L & 750L Dozers Feature All-New Operator Station, More Engine Power & More

An all-new operator station, increased power, low-effort electro-hydraulic (EH) controls, and factory-grade control solutions are among the features of the new 700L and 750L dozers that John Deere detailed at the recent CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 trade show. Equipped with a six-cylinder, 6.8-liter John Deere engine, the 135-horsepower (100-kilowatt) 700L and 175-hp (130-kW) 750L both provide more power than any dozer in their respective classes, Deere says. Deere used contractor feedback to develop the dozers, which Nathan Horstman, John Deere Construction & Forestry product manager for crawlers, says are “the most productive, reliable, and easiest to operate yet.”

    Take Control

Besides adding power, Deere also increased the 750L’s operating weight by 750 pounds (340 kilograms), resulting in additional tractive effort and better balance, the company says. Wider blade options include a 161-inch (409-centimeter) option that Deere says is tops in the 750-size class. The 700L, meanwhile, comes with spill sheets that further increase its blade capacity. Both dozers are also available with a new factory-installed slope control feature that automatically maintains blade angle without an external laser or GPS reference needed. The dozers are also SmartGrade-ready, thus “creating an easy upgrade path to a full 3D mastless system in the field,” Deere says.

    Inside The Cabin

Redesigned with visibility and operator comfort in mind, the dozers’ new operator station boasts 15% more volume and 14% larger door openings. In addition to standard ergonomically designed EH controls that reduce operator fatigue and enable “effortless grade control installation in the field,” the dozers feature a premium heated and ventilated seat, rear camera, temperature control, new 7-inch color monitor that can display grade-control information, and reduced cabin noise. Elsewhere, optimized hydraulic hose and electrical harness routings will help reduce the potential for rub points, and hydraulic and hydrostatic oil change intervals are extended to 4,000 hours.
