Kobelco has launched a new 96-horsepower SK130LC-11 excavator for North America that’s part of a new Generation 11 lineup designed to provide enhanced power, productivity, and efficiency. Among other abilities, KOBELCO says the 32,800-pound (14,900-kilogram) SK130LC-11 is nimble and quiet enough to work where other conventional models can’t while still providing a digging force of 24,818 pounds to “achieve leading-class work volume, even while minimizing fuel consumption.” The SK130LC-11 joins KOBELCO’s overall lineup of compact, standard, long reach, zero tail swing, recycling, demolition, and other excavators.

    Fast Cycle Times = Profit

The SK130LC-11 uses a Tier IV Final Isuzu 4 JJ 1 XDRAC-01 engine that utilizes an SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system and DPF (diesel particulate filters). A double-element air cleaner and pre-filter with integrated water separator also provide filtering. The power plant generates 277 pounds-foot (357 newton-meters) of torque, while NEXT-3E technology lets operators configure the machine to balance performance and fuel economy to turn “fast cycle times into profit,” KOBELCO says. Other notable specs include a 28.83-foot (8.7-meter) maximum digging reach, 19.6-in (6-m) max digging depth, and 9.4-ft (2.8-m) minimum swing radius.

The SK130LC-11 also includes an ergonomic GRAMMER air-ride suspension seat, a redesigned control panel with new jog dial and 10-inch monitor, and side and rear cameras with split-screen display ability. Other features include KOBELCO’s exclusive independent travel system that enables the SK130LC-11 to move, lift, and swing simultaneously without power loss. Operators also don’t have to switch modes to draw full swing power during combined operations thanks to an automatic swing priority feature. An attachment-selection system, meanwhile, enables switching attachments quickly and easily via adjustable flow-rate bucket, breaker, nibbler, and thumb presets. And last but not least, KOBELCO equips the excavator with remote diagnostic and preventative maintenance systems.
