Upgraded Skyjack Articulating & Telescopic Boom Lift Models For 2020 Offer Increased Platform Capacity

    Posted On: May 8, 2020

Skyjack recently announced it has upgraded numerous models from its telescopic and articulating boom lift lineups for 2020, providing them with increased platform capacity. (Photo courtesy of Skyjack.)

Skyjack has increased the rated platform capacity of several models in its telescopic and articulating boom lift ranges for 2020. Models impacted span 40- to 60-foot (12.2- to 18.3-meter) platform heights. Depending on the model, the upgraded models feature an up to 1,000-pound (454-kilogram) capacity increase and up to a three-person personnel rating. Skyjack, a division of Linamar, denotes the increased-capacity machines with a plus sign (+) added to the model name, such as the SJ63 AJ+ articulating and SJ66 T+ telescopic models. The enhanced lifts also notably receive control system upgrades that better align them with Skyjack’s ELEVATE telematics solution, Skyjack says.

    “Class-Leading Capacity”

Corey Connolly, Skyjack product manager, says the increased-capacity models give operators the flexibility to tackle jobs across all types of applications, and with greater efficiently. The SJ63 AJ+, for example, “now features a class-leading capacity rating of 660/1,000 pounds (300/454 kilograms)—significantly greater than those offered by other manufacturers, with a three-person capability to full height,” he says. Connolly says Skyjack adding dual capacities to most of its boom lifts was patterned on the success it has seen since launching the 85-ft. (26-m) SJ85 AJ.

Upgrades to Skyjack’s telescopic and articulating boom lifts for 2020 span 40- to 60-foot models and, depending on the model, include an up to 1,000-pound capacity increase and up to three-person personnel rating. (Photo courtesy of Skyjack.)

    More Details

Skyjack’s increased-capacity articulating models include the 46-ft. (14-m) SJ46+ and 63-ft. (19.2-m) SJ63 AJ+. Increased-capacity telescopic booms include the 40-ft SJ40 T+, 45-ft (13.7-m) SJ45 T+, 61-ft. (18.6-m) SJ61 T+, and 66-ft (20.1-m) SJ66 T+. Along with the new upgrades, Skyjack will continue supporting previous features variously available with its boom, such as EASYDRIVE direction-sensing drive and steer controls, the AXLDRIVE system for rough terrains, its SKYCODED control system, true vertical rise SKYRISER technology, and SPEEDYREACH lowering technology.
