Yanmar B75W-5 Wheel Excavator Is Compact Without Compromising On Power
The new B75W-5 is a short tail wheel excavator, giving the machine a more compact design than a conventional excavator and the ability to work well in confined spaces. Yanmar didn’t skimp on performance, either. The B75W-5 features a digging depth of 11.5 feet (3,500 millimeters; TPA boom), digging force of 28,000 pounds-foot (38,000 newton-meters; at bucket edge), max reach of 22.9 ft (6,990 mm; TPA boom), and max dumping height of 16.5 ft (5,050 mm; TPA boom).
Application Flexibility
Yanmar says the B75W-5 is best-suited for urban jobsites, highway construction, and landscaping projects, and says it offers a LUDV (load pressure independent flow distribution) hydraulic system with four independent circuits. The design allows the operator to simultaneously operate a tilt rotator with a hydraulic quick-hitch system and a hydraulically driven tool like as a sorting grab, asphalt cutter, or cutting unit. Yanmar offers a host of custom-built attachments for the B75W-5, including a bucket and fork carrier, mechanical and hydraulic quick couplers, standard, grading, and swivel buckets, and DMS breakers.
Power
Yanmar equips the B75W-5 with its 4TNV98CT turbocharged diesel engine, providing 73 horsepower (54.4 kilowatts) and full compliance with EU Stage V emissions. The B75W-5 delivers 218 pounds-foot (295.5 newton-meters) of torque at 1,365 rpm and can reach travel speeds of up to 22.3 mph (36 km/h). The laterally installed engine and short tail wheel excavator’s low center of gravity offer stability even with the boom fully extended. Articulated joints let operators translate the power into work close to walls. Yanmar’s proprietary Smart Control operating system is also onboard to let the driver quickly select optimum excavator power levels for different applications.
