CraneWorks Of Texas Buying National Crane Boom Trucks For Its Rental Fleet
Houston-based crane rental company CraneWorks has taken delivery of new 60-ton (54.4-metric ton) NBT60L mounted boom trucks from National Crane. The manufacturer touts the cranes’ mobility and speed, while the new owner praised their other attributes.
Capacity & Reach
“The new L series from National gives our fleet some of the best capacities and reaches in the boom truck space,” says CraneWorks CEO Keith Ayers.
National will deliver more swing seat boom trucks to CraneWorks going forward, including NBT55L and NBT45-142 models. The crane maker calls them “ideal” for oil and gas industry work, and also tree service and utility jobs when used with or without an aerial lift.
The National Cranes
The 60-ton NBT60L has a 151-foot (46-meter) full-power boom with five sections. It can use an optional 36-foot (11-meter) fixed-lattice jib that is offsetable to 15 and 30 degrees. The NBT60L can reach a maximum height under hook of 196 ft (59.7 m). Its cab tilts up to 20 degrees and has a heated seat and either single- or double-axis, electric over hydraulic joystick controls.
National NBT55 series boom trucks offer either a 55-ton (49.9-mt) or 50-ton (45.4-mt) lifting capacity and a 128-ft (39-m) boom. A 45-ft (13.7-m) jib helps the crane reach a maximum height of 179 ft (54.6 m). The NBT55 has fully integrated machine control and a load moment indicator.
The NBT45-1 from National doubles as both a crane and an aerial lift. It can hoist up to 45 tons (40.8 mt) as a crane and up to 1,200 pounds (544 kilograms) as an aerial platform. It has boom options ranging from 103 to 161 ft (31.4 to 49.1 m), with an optional jib that can help it reach a 206-ft (62.8-m) maximum height.
