Bobcat has grown its family of telehandlers with the addition of the new V923 VersaHANDLER. The 130-horsepower (97-kilowatt) telescopic tool carrier has been engineered to supply greater lift height, reach, and lifting capacity, according to the North Dakota manufacturer. It’s rated to lift up to 9,041 pounds (4,100 kilograms), or 7,056 lbs (3,200 kg) to its full height of 23 feet, 1 inch (7 meters). Its maximum reach is 13 ft, 6.3 in (4.122 m).

    Lifting & Pushing

The 18,158-lb (8,236-kg) Bobcat V923 is built with Z-Bar boom linkage which, Bobcat says, gives it a greater breakout force of 15,736 pound force-feet (21,335 newton-meters) at the bucket. The boom’s low rear pivot point transfers weight to the front axle while pushing a load, increasing tractive power. The Z-Bar linkage also supplies a better full-height dumping angle and an increased bucket rotation range.

The new VersaHANDLER benefits from a boom-cushioning suspension system and ride control to smooth out travel with a load and avoid spillage. It uses Bobcat’s Quick-Tach attachment mounting system, and can supply 39.6 gallons per minute (150 liters per minute) of auxiliary hydraulic flow and nearly 3,700 pounds per square inch (25,504 kilopascals) of pressure.

    Easy Control, Easy Ownership

Bobcat powers the new V923 VersaHANDLER with a Tier 4 turbodiesel engine that does not need to use a diesel particulate filter (DPF) to comply with emissions standards. The telehandler’s two-speed hydrostatic transmission propels it forward at up to 24.5 mph (39.4 km/h). Engine speed can be managed separately from travel speed, and there’s an inching function for slow forward motion. The V923 supports front-wheel steering, crab-style steering, and all-wheel steering.

The new Bobcat’s enclosed cab comes standard with heat and air conditioning. The operator sits in an air-suspension seat and uses a single joystick to control most of the machine’s operations. Optional front and top window guards add protection against impacts and debris, while an optional rear mirror and boom work light add to the V923’s already impressive visibility. There’s a keyless start option as well.
