HAMM H 5i & H 7i Offer Professional Compacting For Gardening & Landscaping Jobs

    Posted On: October 13, 2020

Smart design and a wealth of roller options make HAMM’s Series H compactors (such as the H 5i shown here) a good fit for a wide range of jobs in narrow and steep areas, as well as on more spacious jobsites. (Photo courtesy of HAMM.)

HAMM’s CompactLine H 5i and H 7i tandem roller compactors feature three-point articulation, can handle gradients of 60% and above, and (as their name suggests) are fairly compact at 159 inches (4 meters) and 173.6 in. (4.4 m) long, respectively. These compactors, with their small size, enhanced visibility, and ease of operation, are ideal for work in narrow or steep areas, including such jobs as path maintenance in landscaping or compaction of trenches.

    Features & Options

The CompactLine machines have drum widths of 53.9 in. (1.37 m) and 66.1 in. (1.68 m) and come with a choice of smooth or padfoot drums and two-part padfoot shells. The H 7i is also available with a VIO drum that allows compaction through either vibration or oscillation. Optional features such as tandem rollers and dozer blades further increase the compactors’ utility, and customers can also opt for the HAMM Compaction Meter to measure progress.

    Highly Efficient

In addition to their versatility, the compactors meet current emissions standards and can be equipped with an automatic engine shutoff that saves fuel during extended idle time. Their telematics interface, battery isolation switch, and LED lighting also serve to improve efficiency. The intuitive operation of the compactors through a language-neutral display that uses unambiguous, logically arranged symbols and minimal buttons, also makes them a popular addition to rental fleets.
