JLG Launches Next-Generation Rough-Terrain 2669 & 3369 Scissor Lifts
Now available from JLG is a quartet of thoroughly redesigned rough-terrain (RT) diesel and battery-powered AC electric rough-terrain (ERT) scissor lifts. Following JLG’s new model number convention, the 2669 lift has a roughly 26-foot (8-meter) platform height and a 69-inch (1,753-millimeter) platform width. Likewise, the JLG 3369 has a 33-ft (10-m) platform height and a 69-in platform width. JLG notes that the platforms have 28% more work area.
“Our new line of rough-terrain scissors are purpose-built with the intent of minimizing or eliminating common jobsite pain points,” says JLG senior product manager for scissor lifts, Rafael Nuñez. “Our brand-new and expanded rough-terrain offering is targeted at improving productivity indoors and outdoors. Instead of simply making the changes that were needed for compliance under the recently published ANSI standards, JLG engaged with customers around the world to better understand their needs, then looked at market trends such as urbanization before deciding that a from-the-ground-up approach was required.”
JLG says it also plans to release new 40- and 47-ft (12.2- and 14.3-m) scissor lifts “in the coming months.”
An Innovative Approach
The engine-powered RT2669 and electric ERT2669 both have a platform capacity of 1,500 pounds (680 kilograms), while the higher-reaching RT3369 and ERT3369 max out at 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms). The new 2669 and 3369 have a zero-platform offset to allow the operator to get closer to the work.
All four lift models are 5 ft, 9 in (1,753 mm) in width and can travel at up to 3.5 mph (5.6 km/h) with their platforms lowered. They can also drive with their platforms fully raised whether indoors or outside. Diesel-powered RT models have a QuikLevel Advanced option that lets them drive at full height on slopes of up to 4.5 degrees, such as outside buildings that have been graded for drainage. QuikLevel Advanced can save a great deal of time compared to manual leveling jacks, according to JLG.
Better Lifting Through Technology
The 2669 and 3369 also come with LiftSense, a JLG-exclusive feature derived from the company’s variable tilt. LiftSense monitors the weight on the platform and the tilt of the lift and calculates the work envelope it will allow. The operator can view the maximum height the lift will accommodate before elevating the platform. The LiftSense work envelope and other information appears on the LCD display on the platform control box, another industry first.
“The new platform control box on the RT/ERT line demonstrates our focus on technology and on integrating data into products that allow operators to better understand machine performance and capabilities,” says Nuñez. “It provides users a multitude of productivity, terrain, machine health, and safety notifications during use.”
Other features of the new 2669 and 3369 include rails that easily fold down for tight spaces, a USB charger and phone holster, and the CleanGuard leak containment option that keeps floors clean under electric models.
