New HAMM HD 14i TT Compact Pneumatic Roller Built To Tackle Road-Building, Gardening & Landscaping Jobs

Roller and soil compactor equipment specialist HAMM has refreshed its compact pneumatic tire roller offerings in its HD CompactLine lineup with the addition of the new HD 14i TT. The “i” indicates the roller’s 50.9-horsepower (38-kilowatt) four-cylinder Kubota engine meets U.S. Tier 4 and European Union Stage V exhaust emissions requirements. HAMM parent company Wirtgen Group says the HD 14i TT excels at road building, gardening, and landscaping applications. That includes repair and compacting tasks in cramped and narrow conditions and gently compacting asphalt without vibration.

“Perfect Visibility”

The HD 14i TT offers three-point articulated steering and a 68.7-gallon (260-liter) per minute water tank capacity to go along with a vibration-isolated ergonomic operator platform with weather-resistant dashboard and 12-volt socket. A Basic package adds options for a vandal-proof dashboard with cover, electronic battery-isolation switch, or pressure water sprinkling system. Other options include heated seating, a ROPS (rollover protection system)-compliant cab, and auto-engine stop functionality.

The roller has a 44.4-inch (112-centimeter)-wide drum and 1 foot (30.5 cm) of ground clearance at its center. The machine measures 51 in. (129.5 cm) wide by 116.7 in. (296.4 cm) long by 107.1 in. (271.8 cm) high, and its maximum working width is 50.2 in. (127.5 cm). Wirtgen Group says all HD CompactLine models are extremely compact, and that the HD 14i TT and other series models also provide “perfect visibility” thanks to a tapered front-end design and low machine height. The HD 14i TT’s design notably meets new “Field of view standard” DIN EN 474 requirements, providing even greater safety and surface visibility.

Wirtgen Group also sells larger HP 180i and HP 280i pneumatic rollers with 8- to 28-ton (7.3- to 25.4-metric-ton) operating weights designed for soil stabilization, cold recycling, final compaction, surface sealing, and other jobs.
