Dynapac has introduced two new compact asphalt roller compactors in its VI generation series. The 4.3-ton (3.9-metric ton) CC1300VI and the 4.75-t (4.3-mt) CC1400VI have respective drum widths of 51 and 54 inches (1,295 and 1,370 millimeters). They come in double-drum and combination versions with four static rubber wheels at the rear. The new rollers are intended for commercial and highway paving, Dynapac says.

    Plenty Of Options

The CC1300VI and CC1400VI are powered by a 50-horsepower (37-kilowatt) Tier 4 Final Kubota diesel engine with an ECO mode. The motor is oriented in an unorthodox cross-mounted fashion, which among other things makes it easier to service as needed.

Dynapac’s patented and efficient eccentrics system reduces fuel expenditure and optimizes the CC1300VI and CC1400VI’s vibration, including during the eccentrics’ start-up process. The operator can choose between frequencies of 3,240 or 2,940 vibrations per minute to fit the conditions and application.

The CC1300VI and CC1400VI’s optional dual amplitude settings provide further flexibility to compact layers of different thicknesses. An asphalt temperature meter option can verify that the fresh asphalt is within the proper temperature range for compaction to begin. Other optional equipment for the new rollers include dual front-right and -left edge pressers/cutters and a rear-mounted chip spreader.

    Comfortable Control

Dynapac designed the operator station of the CC1300VI and CC1400VI for visibility and comfort. The platform is vibration-damped and roomy. When equipped with an optional sliding seat, the rollers’ forward and reverse levers follow the seat to improve ergonomics and driver control. Other options include dual forward and reverse levers, a folding canopy, and a comfort seat with weight adjustment, armrests, and optional heating.
