Caterpillar recently announced the arrival of its new 953 Track Loader, which replaces the 953K. The new track loader boasts increased fuel efficiency, better control, and cab improvements. The 953 has a 160-horsepower (119-kilowatt) Cat C7.1 engine that is U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final-/EU Stage V-compliant and an operating weight of 35,181 pounds (15,958 kilograms). The machine can save up to 10% on fuel consumption using Auto Mode, which adapts engine speed to the load and an even greater reduction can be achieved with Eco Mode for lighter-duty applications.

    Updated Cab

The updated cab has a suspension seat, adjustable armrests and controls, and a 10-inch touchscreen dash display. Operators have a choice between joystick or V-lever and pedal steering for transmission and joystick or two-lever controls for implements. Both options allow operators to set implement response sensitivity to either fine, normal, or coarse, depending on their preference.

    Connected Tech

The 953 uses Cat Link telematics to gather data for managing jobsites. Information can be viewed from anywhere using VisionLink and Remote Troubleshoot allows dealers to perform diagnostic testing remotely. Save preferred machine settings with Application Profile and Operator ID and add security by requiring operators to enter an ID before starting a machine.

    Optional Features

Other optional features include the Performance Series bucket, which boosts productivity with a 2.7-cubic-yard (2.06-cubic-meter) capacity, a Fusion Quick Coupler to enable fast attachment changes, and a variety of buckets, forks, and other attachments that can be shared with other compatible machines.
