Genie Presents New GS-1432m & GS-1932m Micro Scissor Lifts For Low-Level Access That’s Safer Than A Ladder

Genie’s new GS-1432m and GS-1932m are lightweight, compact, slab scissor lifts meant to be used indoors or outdoors in place of risky ladders. The rental-ready units are useful for maintenance and access at working heights of up to 19 feet (5.8 meters).

“Our new Genie micro scissors are lightweight and compact enough to drive through doorways with standard fixed guardrails, be transported in standard elevators, and feature front-wheel drive with a zero-degree inside turning radius, which means they are highly maneuverable in tight spaces,” says Genie Product Manager Michael Flanagan. “But, despite their compact footprint, the platform is sized to ensure two people can work comfortably together in the platform.”

The two lifts are available now in most parts of the world, with a North American launch planned for the first quarter of 2022.

    Mighty Micros

The new Genie GS-1432m and GS-1932m (the “M” suffix stands for “micro”) are light enough for use in multi-story buildings. Both lifts are rated for two workers and can lift up to 500 pounds (227 kilograms). The micro lifts feature a 32-inch (810-millimeter)-wide platform and a 24-in. (600-mm) extension deck.

The GS-1432m and GS-1932m are driven by brushless AC drive motors as found in Genie’s E-Drive models. The company says that the motors have 35% lower lifetime maintenance costs, while both scissor lifts have 70% fewer hydraulic hoses and fittings to service or replace.

“With Genie E-Drive, these new micro scissors are four times more efficient than traditional hydraulic drive systems,” Flanagan says. “E-Drive enables the scissor lifts to run 30% longer on a single charge for greater productivity on the jobsite while reducing lifetime battery costs by up to 20%.”

    14- & 18-Foot Models

The new GS-1432m weighs less than 2,000 lbs (907 kg), which is 30% lighter than a similar standard-sized lift. Whether it’s used indoors or outdoors, its maximum platform height is 14 ft, 1 in. (4.3 meters).

The Genie GS-1932m can reach an indoor platform height of 18 ft, 2 in. (5.55 m) and an outdoor platform height of 17 ft (5.18 m). The lift is 32 in. wide and 4 ft, 7 in. (1.4 m) long. In its stowed position, the GS-1932m is just 79 in. (1,970 mm) tall. Like the GS-1432m, the taller lift has a 25% gradeability rating.
