Kleemann’s very first MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 mobile jaw crushing plant has been working in a German quarry since the beginning of March. The medium-output crusher has been producing aggregate from natural stone for Recycling GmbH Lahnau.

The plant’s new overload protection system keeps the output consistent and at a high level. It will go on to process concrete and rubble for recycling purposes, the firm says.

    High Output, High Fuel Economy

Kleemann designed the MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 for pre-crushing and coarse crushing medium-hard to hard natural stone. It can process up to 441 tons (400 metric tons) per hour. The plant is transportable by low-loader semi-trailer and boasts a fast startup time of about 10 minutes, according to the manufacturer.

"Overall the output of the MC 110(i) EVO2 is thus clearly higher than the predecessor model—and all this combined with lower fuel consumption," says Wirtgen Germany Sales’ Christoph Obalski.

    Automatic Overload Detection

"We were already very satisfied with the predecessor model from 2017,” says Recycling GmbH Lahnau Technical Manager Ralph Lang. “What impressed us most with the new machine were the crusher jaws that open automatically in case of overload."

A key selling point of the MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 is its automatic unblocking system with a reversing option. If a piece of metal or other uncrushable debris clogs the crusher, it opens its jaws in two seconds—twice as fast as the prior model—to get rid of the problem. The crusher automatically returns to the proper, fully hydraulic gap setting afterward.

“Thanks to this function, large single parts do not usually cause any damage," says Recycling GmbH Lahnau’s Mobile Processing Department Manager, Daniel Weis. The features also allow the plant to start up easily even if its crusher is full of material.

    Crush With A Hush

The MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 crusher is powered by an EU Stage V, 322- to 326-horsepower (240- to 243-kilowatt) diesel engine. Its noise emissions are surprisingly low due to its direct-drive design and ventilation system that is separate from the plant’s output.

"In urban areas, on account of noise emissions now and then we only receive an operating permit for two hours a day,” says Lang. “Quieter machines can be operated for longer periods accordingly, which also increases the daily output.”

The MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 has an 11.2-foot (3.4-meter) transport height, which is 7.9 inches (200 millimeters) lower than the previous model. "In spite of this, the space under the crusher is as generous as it was before," says Weis. “This is good.”

    Tech Connects

Kleemann’s SPECTIVE operating system gives the operator simplified control over the crusher plant. SPECTIVE can help with troubleshooting, display feeds from video cameras in the crusher and hopper, send productivity reports as PDF files, and much more. In addition, the SPECTIVE CONNECT feature can send the most important plant data to a mobile device.

"The system is used by the crusher to send data on the operating status per app to my smartphone," Weis says. "I therefore always have the status of the operating hours and fuel consumption at a glance and can arrange, for example, for more diesel fuel in good time."

The operator can run the MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 using a 12-in. touchscreen panel in the cab, a radio remote control, and/or a small radio remote with a more basic control set. The crusher also supports Wirtgen’s WITOS FleetView telematics system.
