Link-Belt Cranes introduced its first telescopic crawler in 2006. Recently, the Lexington, Kentucky, manufacturer expanded its crawler crane family with the addition of the new TCC-550. The 55-ton (45-metric-ton) TCC-550 is expected to be available in Q4 this year and builds on the many of the features found in the TCC-500, including that crane’s full-power, four-section boom. The TCC-550 offers the same maximum tip height (165.5 feet, 50.4 meters) as the TCC-500, with the main boom extending from 36.5 to 115 ft (11 to 35 m) and with fly options ranging from 28.5 to 51 ft (8.7 to 15.5 m).

    Flexible & Transport-Friendly

The TCC-550 provides the flexibility of adjustable track width and can work at any of three widths: 15 ft 2 inches (4.6 m), 13 ft, 6 in. (4.1 m), and 11 ft, 5 in (3.48 m) when fully retracted. Link-Belt says the TCC-550 is easily transportable, thanks to the fully retracted track width and a weight under 100,000 pounds (45,360 kilograms) with the standard 25,000-lb (11,340-kg) counterweight package onboard. When moving around the jobsite, the TCC-550 travels at 2 mph (3.2 km/h).

See The Jobsite From All Angles

To improve jobsite visibility, Link-Belt offers a Vision Package that includes an inch-view camera, rear-view camera, and right-side swing camera. Operators will also be able to see clearly, even when working at night, thanks to high-intensity, 360-degreee LED work lights mounted on the crane’s house and the boom base section. Other operator-friendly features include anchor points on the work platform for fall protection and to let operators safely work around the outside of the platform. Link-Belt also adds textured, slip-resistant paint to all the TCC-550’s walking surfaces for better footing.
