Generac Introduces New Battery-Powered MLTB Light Tower
Generac Mobile recently unveiled its first ever battery-powered light tower, the high-intensity, DOT-certified MLTB. The low-noise, zero-emissions, no-cable light tower uses a lithium-ion battery and is designed for versatile applications such as indoor jobsites or entertainment venues. Generac says the MLTB will be available in the first quarter of 2022.
“Our LED technology is designed to optimize efficiency on the jobsite,” says Generac Mobile Senior Product Manager Vincent Hunt. “The MLTB is a versatile, clean, and safe choice for equipment rental companies, contractors, and end users who are looking for excellent value, utility and reliability.”
About The MLTB
With the MLTB, there is no engine to maintain, which lowers ownership costs by up to 60% over diesel light towers. The 22-kWh lithium-ion battery pack offers up to 75 hours of runtime between charges and can be recharged using standard 120V or 240V outlets. The MLTB can be used individually or linked with other Generac plug-in towers. The light tower’s compact design allows up to 19 towers to be transported on a 53-foot flatbed truck at one time.
Better-Quality Light
The unit is equipped with four 240W Generac G4 LED fixtures for maximum light. The instant-on LED lights save time with no waiting for warm-ups, cool-down, or restrike and feature multiple settings, including dusk-to-dawn and dusk plus 2-8 hours, for automated operation. The LED lights are designed to last approximately 10 years with minimal degradation over time. The tower comes standard with an impact-resistant MLT polymer enclosure.
“We are excited to introduce this new energy technology solution that plays a critical role in bringing more sustainable power solutions to the market,” says Generac Mobile Vice President of Sales Brian Yureskes. “Generac Mobile is proud to innovate technology and solutions that will help improve efficiency, save money, and offer a faster return on investment, all while being a positive contributor of sustainable growth in our industry.”
