Viktor Baumann Expands Range Of Services With Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 All-Terrain Crane
Viktor Baumann GmbH & Co. KG plans to use its new Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 all-terrain crane for erecting and dismantling construction cranes, and will put it to work at chemical plants where its compact footprint and tall hoist heights will be especially handy. For these jobs and others, Baumann found the LTM 1150-5.3 to be a good fit.
“With its 217-foot telescopic boom, the LTM 1150-5.3 has a very long mast with good lifting capacity values, yet is also very compact,” says Viktor Baumann Managing Director Sabine Baumann-Duvenbeck.
Lift Heavy Things Very High
Liebherr announced the LTM 1150-5.3 last fall, and compared to its predecessor (the LTM 1130-5.1), the 217-ft (66-meter) boom is 19.7 ft (6 m) longer and has a 10-ton (9.1-metric-ton) lift capacity. At 197 ft (60 m), the five-axle crane can lift 13.2 t (12 mt), which is 1.6 t (1.5 mt) more than the LTM 1130-5.1. Maximum lift capacity is 170 t (154 mt), and with lattice extensions, maximum hook height extends to 302 ft (92 m). Options for the lattice include 23-ft (7-m) lattice sections with double folding jibs, erection jibs with runners, and lattice jibs.
Versatility To Fill Varying Roles
The 170-t crane carries 10 t of ballast with a gross weight of 66 t, allowing it to travel on many public roads.
“That makes the LTM 1150-5.3 ideal for versatile, flexible use,” Baumann-Duvenbeck says. “The new crane also features some fantastic technical equipment, such as ECOmode and ECOdrive to save on fuel consumption and carbon emissions and also to reduce noise.”
The ECOdrive function is powered by the ZF-TraXon transmission, which is paired with a 536-horsepower (400-kilowatt) engine that generates 1,855 pounds-foot (2,516 newton-meters) of torque.
