Generac Introduces 26-kW Air-Cooled Guardian Home Standby Generator
Generac Power Systems recently announced its new Guardian 26-kilowatt (peak power) Home Standby Generator, which it describes as the most powerful air-cooled model in the industry segment. The unit provides larger homes with 28% or more starting power than other air-cooled home standby generators, Generac says, while taking up 68% less space than a comparable water-cooled model.
Generac’s Guardian line of generator sets now ranges from 8 to 26 kW of power.
Affordable & Smart Grid Ready
“The Guardian 26kW can save homeowners as much as $8,000 on purchase and install compared to similar-output liquid-cooled generators,” says Generac Executive Vice President and Consumer Power business group President, Kyle Raabe. “That’s because the Guardian 26kW is lighter, smaller, and easier to install.”
Generac made the Guardian 26kW Smart Grid Ready, meaning that its owner can allow it to generate local power at times of peak demand by request from the power utility. This eases stress on the grid and can offset a part of the homeowner’s electricity bill, the company says.
State-Of-The-Art
“The Guardian 26kW home standby generator possesses the innovative, state-of-the-art technology Generac is known for, while being affordable to acquire and install,” says Generac President and CEO Aaron Jagdfeld. “The latest addition to our Guardian line continues our mission to make backup power more accessible for everyone as we continue to move towards a future that is not solely reliant on the grid.”
