Liebherr has revealed its smallest wheel loader, the 46-horsepower (34-kilowatt) L 504. The new machine offers excellent visibility, a low-line structure for stability, and easy operation even for rental customers.

The L 504 features an impressive tipping load of 5,950 to 7,165 pounds (2,700 to 3,250 kilograms), a bucket capacity of 0.92 cubic yards (0.7 cubic meters), and an operating weight of 10,140 to 10,845 lbs (4,600 to 4,920 kg). It complies with EU Stage V emissions regulations, which are stricter than the EPA’s Tier 4 Final standard.

Liebherr also announced new features for the two larger loaders in its compact series, the 64-HP (47.5-kW) L 506 and 74-HP (55-kW) L 508.

    Compact Series Features

All three Generation 8 Liebherr Compact loaders feature z-bar kinematics and parallel guidance that facilitates safe operation with forks to move fragile cargo such as pallets of paving stones or decking tiles. Each model can use Liebherr’s LIKUFIX quick coupler system, which automatically attaches and detaches hydraulic and mechanical attachments without requiring the operator to exit the cab. The loaders’ tapered lift arms afford the operator a direct view of the working tool and articulation section.

The L 506 and L 508 have been updated with the L 504’s redesigned cab, which supplies greater visibility thanks to additional glass that reaches all the way down into the foot well. The rear window has curved sides for a clearer view of the rearward corners. A backup camera is optional, whereas an adjustable display on the A pillar comes standard.

Other options for Liebherr compact loaders include an infinitely adjustable steering column and a mini joystick on the control lever that can operate additional hydraulic functions.

    New L 506 & L 508 Features

Liebherr now offers Speeder variants of the L 506 and L 508, which can travel at up to 18.6 mph (30 km/h). New High Lift arms are another option for the L 506 and L 508 for when extra reach is required.

The 12,565- to 12,985-lb (5,700- to 5,890-kg) L 508 compact is now larger and wider with a 4.9-foot (1.5-meter) track width. Liebherr points out that the 8.14-ft (2.48-m) machine height of the 10,845- to 11,575-lb (4,920- to 5,250-kg) L 506 and the new L 504 simplify trailer transport for both machines.
