JLG Introduces New ES2646 & R2646 Electric Indoor/Outdoor Scissor Lifts
JLG has introduced a pair of electric scissor lifts for indoor and outdoor use. The electric-drive ES2646 and hydraulic-drive R2646, based on the same chassis and platform, provide a 32-foot (9.75-meter) working height for two workers indoors or one worker outdoors. The lifts offer an unrestricted platform capacity of 1,200 pounds (544 kilograms), which JLG says leads its class.
“With a wide variety of jobs to be done, the 20% increase in capacity of the ES and R2646 models, as compared to competitive models in the size class, allows scissor lift operators to carry more materials, like pipes and panels, as well as tools such as welders, to the work area,” says Bob Begley, JLG’s director of product management for scissor lifts, vertical lifts, and low-level access lifts. “This means that overhead tasks can be completed quicker and more efficiently."
Common Features
Both the ES2646 and R2646 comply with A92.20 ANSI regulations. They can drive at up to 0.5 mph (0.8 km/h) at full elevation, or up to 3 mph (4.83 km/h) with their platforms lowered. Each platform has a 3-ft (0.91-m) extension with a capacity of 265 lbs (120 kg).
The two lifts have a width of 3.9 ft (1.18 m) and a height of 6 ft (1.82 m) with their rails folded. Their ground clearance is 4 inches (0.1 m). They have 25% gradeability ratings. Both JLGs have a variable-tilt feature for use on uneven surfaces. The scissor lifts are compatible with accessories such as JLG Mobile Control, QuikAccess Rails, and QuikFold Rails.
A Few Differences
The electric-drive ES2646 is available with the optional CleanGuard leak containment system. CleanGuard catches any leaks of hydraulic fluid to keep floors clean and safe to walk on. JLG says the ES2646 also runs twice as long on a battery charge as a competing model.
The hydraulic-drive JLG R2646 is equipped with active protection from potholes. The system increases ground clearance on rough terrain.
