Kobelco Rolls Out New 25-Ton SK210LC-11 Excavator With More Standard Features & Better Performance
Kobelco's new 25-ton (22.7-metric-ton) SK210LC-11 crawler excavator comes with more standard features and better performance than its predecessor, according to the manufacturer. The 50,000-pound (22,680-kilogram) machine has a 160-horsepower (119-kilowatt), Tier IV Final Yanmar engine with 18% more torque than the previous model’s engine.
Kobelco improved the durability of several major components of the conventional-sized SK210LC-11. Its body is more rigid thanks to thicker side panels, and its bucket cylinder pin has had a diameter increase to better handle the stress of various attachments.
Independent Travel
The SK210LC-11 has a bucket digging force of 32,190 pounds-force (143 kilonewtons), 51,300 lbf (228 kN) of drawbar pulling force, and 52,740 lbf (235 kN) of swing torque. Its three work modes emphasize economy, performance, or a balance of the two. When needed, the excavator’s Heavy Lift and Power Boost features are available with no limit on how long they may be used.
Kobelco builds the SK210LC-11 with separate hydraulic pumps for travel and the attachment in use. This Independent Travel system allows the excavator to drive smoothly around the work area while carrying a heavy load, Kobelco says. A new hydraulic oil filter keeps contaminants from getting into the oil tank while it’s being serviced.
The SK210LC-11 has pre-installed mounting brackets for 2D and 3D machine guidance systems from various providers. Some of its standard features include a radiator clean-out screen and a Level II overhead top guard that can be opened when the window needs cleaning. SK210LC-11 models for the U.S. market have rear swing flashers and work lights mounted on the counterweight. There are also standard LED work lights around the exterior of the machine.
The Work Environment
Kobelco engineered the SK210LC-11’s cabin for operator comfort, visibility, and productivity. A heated air suspension seat comes standard. The seat features seven-way adjustability and armrests and hydraulic controls that move with it. Its pilot levers have a shorter stroke and ergonomic paths of motion that do not require the operator’s wrists to arch. The cabin also has backlit switches and dials, heating and AC, and a hydraulic pressure release function that makes changing work tools and hoses easier and safer.
An intuitive jog dial controls the menus and functions of the 10-inch color monitor. The display can show a 270-degree view from the SK210LC-11’s three standard cameras. It also gives the operator the means to adjust the flow rate of the bucket as well as a breaker, nibbler, rotating grapple, or tilt rotator. Elsewhere in the cab are a Bluetooth radio, device charger power outlets, and a smartphone holder.
KOMEXS (KOBELCO Monitoring Excavator System) telematics service comes standard for the duration of the 4-year/4,000-hour full machine warranty on the SK210LC-11.
