Gardner Denver has announced new models in its Electra Saver G2 series of single-stage, rotary-screw air compressors. Units are now available in 200-, 250-, and 300-horsepower (150-, 185-, and 225-kilowatt) levels with or without an enclosure.

The new models round out the Electra Saver G2 series, which now comprises 75-HP (55-kW) to 300-HP models with 100- to 200-psi (6.9- to 13.8-bar) pressure levels. Gardner Denver says that with OEM lubricants and parts, the compressors will provide many years of service.

    Durable & Efficient

The new Electra Saver G2 compressors are model numbers SAVG2-200, SAVG2-250, and SAVG2-300. Each features a relatively large, slow-speed, 1,800-rpm airend (compression unit) with oversized bearings. The variable-displacement compressor is direct gear-driven and oil-lubricated.

Gardner Denver’s venerable TurnValve variable-speed technology provides efficient capacity control under partial load. The simple feature is designed to match the compressor’s output to the demand. TurnValve gets rid of broad fluctuations in pressure as well as large storage requirements, according to the manufacturer.

    Configuration Options

Gardner Denver offers the new 200- to-300-HP Electra Saver G2 compressors in 50-Hz (380-volt) and 60-Hz (380-, 460-, and 575-V) versions. Each comes standard with an open drip-proof (ODP) main motor, but a totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) motor is available as an option. Each model uses a wye-delta (star delta) starter to activate the electric motor.

The compressors’ noise level is rated at 76 dB(A) in a NEMA 4 electrical enclosure and 85 dB(A) in an open, unenclosed configuration. Each Electra Saver G2’s control lines are formed of stainless steel. Gardner Denver produces both air- and water-cooled versions of the compressors with correspondingly appropriate oil coolers.

The user can control an Electra Saver G2 using its Governor microprocessor controller through a color LCD touchscreen. Along with the compressors’ iConn module, the Governor also provides diagnostics and monitoring with historical trend reporting. Gardner Denver backs the product line with a 10-year extended warranty.
