Caterpillar Bringing More Than 70 Machines & Attachments To Bauma 2022
Caterpillar intends to display a large variety of products at the Bauma 2022 trade show being held in Munich, Germany, October 24th to 30th. The list includes more than 70 pieces of Cat equipment and attachments from Caterpillar Construction Industries and Cat dealer Zeppelin. The company also plans to showcase various technologies, services, and sustainability solutions, as well as engines for power generators at a separate display.
Construction Equipment
Among the machines Cat is bringing to Bauma is the D6 XE dozer, billed as the industry’s first high-drive, electric-drive dozer. The D6 XE will have the Cat Abrasion(-resistant) undercarriage and a patented, relieved tread idler design with up to double the service life. Another dozer, the Cat D4, is updated with better visibility, lower operating costs, and new technologies.
The new Cat 336 hydraulic excavator numbers among 20 next-generation Cat models making an appearance. There will be nine mini excavators in the 1.1- to 11-ton (1- to 10-metric-ton) range, and nine tracked and wheeled models weighing 16.5 to 105 t (15 to 95 mt). A railroad excavator and three Cat material handlers will be present, as well.
As for wheel loaders, Cat will show compact models 906, 907, and a 908 in a high-lift configuration. The three compacts feature the new Cat 2.8 engine. A 980 XE medium wheel loader will attend along with a Cat Certified Rebuild model 982M. Large wheel loaders will be represented by models 992 and 988K XE. The latter will sport recent updates and an electric drive, which combine to increase its rimpull, hydraulic breakout force, and downhill speeds.
Elsewhere at the Cat booth will be a 120 GC motor grader with a low-cab option for ease of transport, articulated and off-highway trucks between 33 and 77 t (30 and 70 mt), and a CB2.5 GC utility compactor and CS12 GC vibratory compactor that will be of interest to rental companies. Cat will also offer a glimpse of several electric products currently under development, including a modified, tethered MH3024 material handler.
Other Highlights
Caterpillar will also highlight an array of attachments, including hammers, shears, grapples, couplers, buckets, smart dozer blades, augers, demolition grapples, and tiltrotators. Its PL161 product mounts on attachments for wireless tracking of their locations and hours worked as well as for tool recognition purposes.
Show attendees will also be able to sit in a Cat Command Station virtual cab to remotely operate a machine located elsewhere.
Power Products
In a separate location, Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division will exhibit engines from 0.5 to 30 liters aimed at power generation. Engines such as the Cat C7.1, C9.3B, C13B, and C18 will be displayed, as well as a newly available C3.6 industrial power unit.
