Mecalac Launches New MCL Range Of Articulated Loaders From The 25-HP MCL2 To The 49-HP MCL8

Mecalac has announced its new MCL range of compact articulated wheel loaders. Its six models range from the 1.92-ton (1.74-metric-ton) MCL2 to the 3.14-t (2.85-mt) MCL8. Four of the loaders have standard long booms for farm, landscaping, and rental applications. Two short-boom models, the MCL4+ and MCL6+, address construction site needs with increased tipping load capacities.

Common Features

All of the new Mecalac loaders are available with a canopy, canopy with a foldable top, or cabin. Each also supports optional MyMecalac Connected Services and a digital keypad to keep unauthorized personnel from starting the machine.

Other options include Mecalac’s M-Drive, which allows the operator to set engine rpm via a hand throttle and control the machine speed with the foot pedal, and an adjustable speed range for the pedal that can (for example) keep travel below a certain speed for precision operations.

The MCL2

Mecalac says the MCL2 proffers the features of its big brothers in a smaller package. Its wheel motor transmission and relatively light operating weight of 3,836 pounds (1,740 kilograms) add to its nimbleness on the jobsite.

The 25-horsepower (18.4-kilowatt) MCL2 has a tipping load of 2,238 lbs (1,015 kg) and a width of 40.9 inches (1,040 millimeters).

The MCL4 & MCL4+

Also powered by a 25-HP engine, the heavier Mecalac MCL4 weighs 5,291 lbs (2,400 kg) with its standard boom. Its short-boom version, the MCL4+, tips the scales at 5,159 lbs (2,340 kg). The extra mass gives the model a tipping load of 3,638 lbs (1,650 kg) with its standard boom and 4,156 lbs (1,885 kg) with its short boom.

The MCL4/MCL4+ is quite compact with a 43.3-in. (1,100-mm) width. Its modest dimensions and weight make it ideal for trailer transport, such as to rental jobs.

The MCL6 & MCL6+

Only slightly heavier than the MCL4/MCL4+ at the same width, the MCL6/MCL6+ has double the horsepower at 49 HP (36 kW). Mecalac says it features high travel speeds, plenty of hydraulic flow, and ample operation speed.

The standard-boom MCL6 weighs 5,401 lbs (2,450 kg), and the short-boom MCL6+ is 5,269 lbs (2,390 kg). Tipping loads are 3,693 lbs (1,675 kg) for the standard MCL6 and 4,211 lbs (1,910 kg) for the MCL6+.

The MCL8

The long boom of the 49-HP Mecalac MCL8 provides a high dumping height and excellent lifting capacity with a tipping load rating of 4,145 lbs (1,880 kg). The 6,283-lb (2,850-kg) loader is also suitable for running hydraulic attachments, according to the manufacturer.
