Volvo CE Unveils Stronger L200H High Lift Wheel Loader With Higher-Capacity Grapples
Volvo has launched an all-new L200H High Lift wheel loader for forestry work that provides 27% greater lifting capacity than the L180H High-Lift wheel loader it replaces. Volvo increased lifting capacity from 9.7 to 12.3 tons (8.8 to 11.2 metric tons), enabling customers to equip the loader with grapples up to 13% larger. Volvo says multiple grapple sizes and shapes are available for different job types. Combine this with a stronger base unit, and operators can now handle more timber per hour, enhancing productivity and reducing operating costs. The High Lift loader can also stack logs 22.6 feet (6.9 meters) high.
Strong Where It Counts
Volvo, which takes credit for inventing the high-lift wheel loader in 1974, says the L200HHL’s greater lifting capacity is made possible through a reinforced lift arm system, cross beam, and rotator unit. Volvo further optimizes lift capacity by increasing the size of its largest available log grapple, offering a capacity of 5.1 square yards (4.3 square meters). It also equipped the loader with larger, 65R29 (875) tires to add stability and improve handling on rough terrain. The maintenance-free, 360-degree rotator also contributes to greater stability, with its built-in dampening system. Similar to the L180H, the L200HHL’s cab tilts 30 or 70 degrees to give operators a better view. The L200HHL is available in operating weights ranging from 77,162 to 88,185 pounds (35,000 to 40,000 kilograms) and is powered by a 330-horsepower (242-kilowatt) Stage V Volvo D13J engine.
Brains To Match
Volvo says the L200HHL is the first high-lift wheel loader compatible with the productivity- and profitability-enhancing Load Assist app suite, which is accessible on an in-cab Volvo Co-Pilot display. Noteworthy apps include the grapple-payload-measuring On-Board Weighing app that helps eliminate overloading, underloading, and reweighing and reduces wait times. The Operator Coaching Advanced app gives operators real-time guidance, and the Tire Pressure Monitoring System app keeps an eye on tire inflation so you don’t have to. The loader also features a specially designed multifunction lever for precise hydraulics control, and comes with the option for a front camera that provides views in front of the machine and on top of the stack. Customers can also opt to use single-lever steering in place of a steering wheel for faster unloading.
