Case Introduces E Series Excavators For North America Including 20-Ton CX190E & 39-Ton CX365E SR
Case has announced new 14.5- to 39.3-ton (13.2- to 35.7-metric ton) E Series crawler excavators. The new incarnations of previous D Series models include the CX140E, CX170E, CX220E, CX260E, and CX300E. Dozer blade and long reach models are also available.
Two more E Series excavators come in new size classes not covered by the D Series, namely the 121-net horsepower (90-net kilowatt) CX190E and the 205-net HP (153-net kW) CX365E SR.
“The CX190E is a 41,000-pound machine that fits a very important area of demand for contractors throughout North America, and the CX365E SR represents something that our partners have made clear they want—a minimum-swing radius excavator in that 39-ton or larger class,” says Brad Stemper, head of construction equipment product management in North America for Case. “The size, power, and performance of that machine in a tighter footprint will transform the workflow and productivity on jobsites with space restrictions.”
OEM-Fit Machine Control Options
Case made numerous durability enhancements to its E Series excavators, along with other upgrades to their performance, efficiency, comfort, and connectivity. The company now offers factory installation of more 2D and 3D machine control systems.
“Between building out a more comprehensive product offering and delivering one of the broadest offerings of 2D and 3D OEM-fit machine control solutions, Case E Series excavators are built to drive performance and efficiency for excavation businesses of all shapes and sizes,” says Stemper.
Comfort & Control Upgrades
Case made the cabin noise level 2 decibels quieter on the CX210E and 3 dB lower on CX250E and CX300E. All the E Series machines come with a new, suspended operator station. The seat and console are locked together to give operators of all sizes similar reach to the armrests and controls, the manufacturer says.
A new, larger 10-inch display can now show rear and side camera views simultaneously along with the machine’s operating info, new attachment controls, and the new Hydraulic Flow Control Balance feature. Hydraulic Flow Control Balance lets the user prioritize flow to arm in, boom up, or swing motions. The display also lets the user store settings for hydraulic flow to one-way and two-way attachments and set a maximum overflow rate for each type. Five programmable buttons allow the operator to call up functions they use most frequently, such as fuel consumption and auxiliary hydraulics information.
A Case Max View display, which provides a 270-degree view around the excavator, is available as an option.
New FPT Engines
The E Series is outfitted with new diesel engines by FPT Industrial. The EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V motors supply more power and torque, and have maintenance-free aftertreatment systems with no exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). Engine oil and fuel filter service intervals have been extended to 1,000 hours.
Four new work modes—including an Eco mode with up to 18% better fuel economy—each offer up to 10 throttle settings. Owners and/or fleet managers can set a lock on the choices of work modes available to operators.
The E Series supports a new SiteConnect Module for fleet management and a new SiteManager App for remote analysis. The excavators come with three years’ worth of Case ProCare as a standard feature. Case ProCare provides a telematics subscription, warranty, and maintenance contract.
