At ProMat 2023 last month in Chicago, Manitou took the opportunity to announce two new truck-mounted forklifts with vertical masts for the North American market. The TMM 45 is a rear-wheel steer model and the TMM 45-4W adds four-way steer; both are equipped for rough-terrain lifting with 10-inches (25.4 centimeters) of ground clearance and off-road chassis and tires.

“The new TMM 45 and TMM 45-4W four-way truck mounted forklifts deliver the best of both worlds: easy and effective to mount to a variety of trucks styles, and a robust and durable design to handle all types of materials,” says Brian Rabe, product marketing manager for Manitou North America. “Truck-mounted forklifts are critical in providing drivers with a safe and effective tool to deliver materials, and we have a solution that delivers both excellent capacity capabilities while making it easy and comfortable for the operator.”

    Specs & Load Capacity

Both new Manitous have a 12.75-foot (3.9-meter) lift height and 5.25-ft (1.6-m) outreach. Buyers can opt for the telescopic fork upgrade, which increases outreach to 8 ft (2.4 m). Both rough-terrain forklifts can lift 4,500 pounds (2,041 kilograms), and Manitou includes stabilizers to maintain the maximum lift capacity when unloading.

“These new TMM forklifts feature industry-leading load capacities, with visibility and load positioning capabilities that make them extremely effective,” says Rabe. “The ability to perform one-sided loading and unloading with stability and long-term durability makes these among the most dynamic truck-mounted forklifts in the industry.”

    High-Visibility Operator Station

From the seat of the TMM 45 or TMM 45-4W, operators can clearly see the working area, forks, and ground. The mast shifts from side to side or from front to back for the best possible load placement. The new TMM forklifts are available with work lights, fork positioners, and long load supports to further increase visibility to the working area.
