Wacker Neuson introduced its ride-on Dual View Dumper DV45 in September, making it easier than ever for an operator to comfortably face the road or the skip as needed throughout the working day. The driver can rotate the DV45’s seat console or cabin up to 180 degrees by pressing a joystick button, even while driving, to get an unobstructed view of the operating or travel direction. The articulated wheel dumper automatically switches the steering and other travel direction-related controls accordingly.

The DV45’s hydraulic swivel tip skip can carry a maximum payload of 9,259 pounds (4,200 kilograms) or 84.8 cubic feet (2,400 liters) in volume. The dumper’s maximum speed is 15.5 mph (25 km/h) with its seat facing forward and 12.4 mph (20 km/h) facing backward.

    DV45 Multi View Mode

The electrohydraulically rotating cabin or operator’s station on the new Dual View Dumper DV45 can also enter a Multi View mode, where a partial rotation allows the operator to oversee the skip, the side of the machine, and the travel direction simultaneously. Turning the cab to the side gives the operator a direct view of the material he’s offloading as well as the path of the moving machine. Multi View mode also limits the dumper’s travel speed. Taken together, Multi View mode makes backfilling trenches or working around obstacles safer and more accurate while also reducing operator strain and fatigue.

When it’s time to move on, the operator can push a button to return the operator’s station to its driving position and press another to return the skip to its transport position. Wacker Neuson says the operator can begin driving immediately, even if the operator's station and skip are still in motion.

    The Dual View Dumper’s Cab

The cabin edition of the Dual View Dumper DV45 has air conditioning and a heated seat with air suspension. The operator can enter or exit the cab whichever way it is facing, including sideways thanks to steps on both sides of the machine.

Adding to the operator’s visibility are front and rear cameras that have a washing system to clear off dust and mud from their lenses. The cameras feed into a 7-inch color display in the cab, which automatically switches the camera view according to the direction of travel. An intelligent tilt monitoring system alerts the driver with visual and audible signals when the machine is unstable or the skip is tilted in an unsafe position.

DV45 dumpers with a cab also have front and rear LED work lights along with an orange and green rotating LED beacon for safety and road travel. A radio with Bluetooth support is optional.

    The DV45’s Drivetrain

Wacker Neuson installs a 45.3-horsepower (36-kilowatt), water-cooled, Perkins turbo-diesel engine in the Dual View Dumper DV45. The motor meets EU Stage V emissions standards and has an auto-stop feature for fuel economy.

The dumper’s hydrostatic, full-time all-wheel drive comes with an automatic ECO mode to stretch its diesel fuel capacity. An optional hill-hold function keeps the machine from rolling backward with the operator takes a foot off the gas pedal. Wacker Neuson equips the DV45 with road lighting and other necessary equipment for road travel.
