Liebherr Details Its New, Compact 31 XXT Truck-Mounted Concrete Pump With LiDriveIn For Entering Indoor Worksites
Liebherr's new 31 XXT concrete pump is its smallest truck-mounted model with a 100.4-foot (30.6-meter) vertical reach. It has a very compact, 5-part distribution boom and a LiDriveIn function that lets the carrier vehicle safely enter buildings through 13.1-ft (4-m)-high doors with the arm package Z-folded in front of the cab. LiDriveIn, a boom with good slip properties, and other factors make the 31 XXT ideal for laying concrete inside buildings.
Liebherr’s LiDriveIn
The 31 XXT’s operator can use the LiDriveIn function by moving the folded boom forward after extending the support cylinders downward. Deploying the outrigger legs is not necessary for this operation. Once the folded arm package is in the forward position, the operator can raise the cylinders and enter the building. The boom’s short arm segments and low, 17.7-foot (5.4-meter) unfolding height make it easy to unfold the boom once inside. LiDriveIn requires a truck with four axles for load limitation reasons.
The concrete pump’s XXT pivoting outrigger system furnishes flexible stability in cramped quarters where there isn’t room to fully extend all the supports in the optimal configuration. The new XXA stability assistance system helps the 31 XXT to make the most of its horizontal reach over sections of the swing arc with outriggers partially deployed or close to the vehicle.
Powerbloc Pump Drive Options
Liebherr’s robust Powerbloc pump drive unit is unique in that its hydraulic switches and measuring components are integrated, getting rid of several hoses, a separate control block, and other elements used in traditional designs. The Powerbloc is also very quiet in operation despite its high performance, according to Liebherr.
The 31 XXT concrete pump is available with two different pump drive units. The 140 Powerbloc has a maximum flow rate of 188 cubic yards (144 cubic meters) per hour, max concrete pressure of 1,160 pounds per square inch (80 bar), and 29-rpm pump cycles, all measured from the piston end. The 170 Powerbloc flows up to 218 cu yds (167 cu m) per hour with a top pressure of 1,160 psi and 34-rpm pump cycles.
The new 31 XXT also uses an HCC semi-closed hydraulic oil circuit, which Liebherr says combines the advantages of both open- and closed-circuit designs while avoiding their disadvantages. The semi-closed hydraulic system delivers copious power quietly while using significantly less oil, Liebherr says.
Thoughtful Liebherr Features
The Liebherr 31 XXT’s efficient storage systems help it to carry approximately 295 ft (90 m) of conveyor lines. It can store DN80, D100, or D125 diameter lines. Each cable segment can be individually removed.
Accessory options for the 31 XXT include LED work lighting, tool and material storage boxes, and shelves for extension hoses and pipelines.
