Palfinger Showcasing New Pal Pro Mechanics Truck Body & TEC Service Crane At NTEA Work Truck Week
Crane truck manufacturer Palfinger is showing a pair of new products at the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Week, running from March 5 to 8, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Designed to fit Class 5 chassis, the newest Pal Pro mechanics truck body and next-generation TEC service crane body combine advanced features, greater reach, and reduced overall weight.
“Our presence at the NTEA Work Truck Week highlights our dedication to leading the industry with innovative solutions that are designed specifically for our North American customers,” says Palfinger Vice President of Sales & Service North and Latin America, Ismael Daneluz. “We are very excited for attendees of the truck show to get a first glimpse of the newest Pal Pro mechanics truck and TEC service crane. These solutions will set new benchmarks in crane performance and design.”
Other Palfinger Equipment At The Show
Palfinger is also showcasing many other products at Work Truck Week. Its ETC MH 40 IH is an insulated bucket truck body for utility work. It has an articulating and telescoping aerial lift with up to 30 feet (8.36 meters) of side reach and a working height of 45 ft (13.72 m). The lift has standard continuous rotation and a basket capacity of 400 pounds (181.4 kilograms). A hydraulic winch and a 3-ft (914-millimeter) jib provide a material-handling capacity of up to 1,000 lbs (454 kg).
The Pal Pro 86 mechanics truck body at Palfinger’s booth will have some star power, as the Class 7 “Mack Daddy” custom model belongs to Juan Ibarra of the Discovery Channel’s “Mine Rescue with Freddy and Juan.” The Pal Pro 86 is a true crane body that can support a Palfinger 14029 service crane with a maximum lift capacity of 14,000 lbs (6,350 kg) and up to 29.1 ft (8.9 m) of outreach.
Palfinger is displaying its new and improved HT 160 SLD 3 hooklift with 16,000 lbs (7,257 kg) of lift and tip capacity. The upgraded hooklift brings better performance, easier installation, and more user-friendly operation to vehicles of 22,500 lbs (10,200 kg) gross vehicle weight or more. Its hook height is adjustable from 36 to 54 inches (914 to 1,372 millimeters), and it can support containers 10 to 12 ft (3 to 3.7 m) in length.
Another Palfinger mechanics truck body at the show may look familiar to attendees. The popular Pal Pro 43 Class 5 true crane body supports service cranes with up to 8,000 lbs (3,650 kg) of lift capacity and up to 29.1 ft (8.9 m) of outreach, as well as a PRC45V air compressor.
Palfinger ILP & PFT Liftgates
Palfinger is highlighting some heavy-duty liftgates for the transportation and logistics industries at the show, as well. The ILP Pallet Pro is a folding model with a weight capacity of up to 3,300 lbs (1,497 kg). It supports platforms of up to 60 by 80 in. (1,524 by 2,032 mm) and bed heights of 38 to 55 in. (965 to 1,397 mm).
The PTF auto-folding liftgate delivers up to 5,500 lbs (2,495 kg) weight capacity and is compatible with platforms of up to 62 by 86 in. (1,575 by 2,184 mm) and truck bed heights of 48 to 56 in. (1,219 to 1,422 mm). It has a self-leveling feature and a power-down function, as well as a torsion-assisted folding mechanism. With the platform electro-hydraulically stowed under the truck, the PTF liftgate is out of the way of forklifts and docks, Palfinger says.
