The new high-performance Caterpillar 330 Straight Boom excavator is made to demolish buildings up to three stories tall. It has a maximum vertical reach of 40.9 feet (12.5 meters), 8 ft (2.44 m) higher than a standard Cat 330.

The excavator features a standard quick coupler and medium- and high-pressure hydraulic circuits. These enable the 330 Straight Boom to use Cat demolition attachments such as hammers, multiprocessors, demolition grapples, and pulverizers, and other attachments for sorting and general excavation work.

    Built For Demolition Work

The Cat 330’s straight boom, sticks, frame, and bucket cylinder guard are reinforced for durability during building dismantlement. The machine’s next-generation demolition cab has shields to protect both its roof and laminated P5A glass front windows. Cat says the excavator’s sloped track frame prevents mud and debris buildup. Sealed track pins and bushings extend undercarriage life and quiet the ride.

    Cat 330 Design Specs

The crawler excavator weighs 67,200 pounds (30,500 kilograms) and has a 275-horsepower (205-kilowatt) Cat C7.1 engine. It offers a maximum digging depth of 19.1 ft (5.82 m) and can reach a pin height of 35.5 ft (10.8 m) at the nose of the stick. With 24-inch (610-millimeter) track shoes, the crawler has an outside width of 10.5 ft (3.2 m).

The fuel, oil, and air filters on the Cat 330 have a long service life. The fuel filters have synchronized 1,000-hour replacement intervals and are tightly grouped to reduce maintenance time.

    Cat 330 Controls & Technologies

Cat designed the next-gen cabin of the 330 Straight Boom with customizable controls that don’t require the operator to reach backward from the seat. A 10-in. touchscreen provides machine status info, touch controls, and video feeds from the standard rearview and right-hand-sideview cameras.

Various Cat technologies make the 330 Straight Boom more efficient at certain tasks, such as the standard Cat Grade feature with 2D technology for digging to grade. The Cat Payload onboard weighing technology is highly useful for excavation applications and can be used with VisionLink to meet production targets.

    Remote Operation

Cat Command technology supports local and long-distance remote control. Technicians can also manage diagnostics and software updates remotely.
