Wacker Neuson recently introduced its biggest Dual View Dumper yet, the DV125. According to the manufacturer, it’s the first dumper with a payload capacity of 13.8 tons (12.5 metric tons), providing the transport volume of a dump truck with the mobility and maneuverability of a dumper. Recommended applications for the DV125 include heavy material handling, road construction, and transportation of manufacturing materials.

    DV125: Powerful Yet Nimble

The DV125’s specially designed, heavy-load axle and reinforced frame allow the machine to carry more material per trip. Its front-tip skip can carry a maximum payload of 27,558 pounds (12,500 kilograms), or 9.16 cubic yards (7,000 liters) by volume.

At the same time, the compact DV125 is very agile, with an articulated pendulum joint and a tight 23.6-foot (7.2-meter) turning radius. The dumper has an operating weight of roughly 14,000 to 14,500 lbs (6,335 to 6,585 kg) and a length of just 15.1 feet (4.6 meters) long.

Wacker Neuson says the DV125 is comfortable to drive. It has hydrostatic four-wheel drive that provides a constant tractive force over broken terrain. The DV125 can travel forward at up to 15.5 mph (25 km/h) and 9 mph (14.5 km/h) in reverse and has a cruise control-like speed regulation system.

When the operator takes a foot off the accelerator pedal, a hydrostatic braking function automatically engages and brake lights activate. The taillight assemblies include dynamic, sequential turn signals.

    DV125 Dual View Mode

Wacker Neuson’s Dual View operating concept allows the driver to rotate the seat, steering wheel, and operating panel 180 degrees and drive normally in the opposite direction. This obviates the need to turn the whole dumper around, saving time and allowing the DV125 to operate efficiently in cramped quarters. The 7-inch color display in the cab switches automatically between the front and rear camera views per the direction of travel, which can be changed safely at any time.

The Dual View feature allows the operator to comfortably face the road or skip as needed throughout each cycle. Rotating the seat module also increases visibility while driving, loading, and unloading, as do front and rear LED work lights.

Other amenities in the DV125 include a radio with hands-free Bluetooth support, USB charging ports for mobile devices, and a lockable and waterproof storage compartment. The cab has air conditioning and an adjustable, heated suspension seat.

The DV125’s Drivetrain & Safety Features

The DV125 has standard safety features such as skip and tilt monitoring, laminated safety glass, and a Level 2-rated protective skip guard that can withstand a bucket impact from a 16.5-t (15-mt) excavator. A hill-hold function keeps the machine from rolling backward when the operator takes a foot off the gas pedal. The dumper has a 62% gradeability rating and a fully automated central lubrication system.

A 134-horsepower (100-kilowatt), 3.6-liter Deutz diesel engine powers the Dual View Dumper DV125. The motor meets EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards. An automatic Eco mode helps to extend its fuel economy. The parking brake automatically engages when the engine is turned off.
