Deere Introduces 326 P-Tier Extended Reach Telescopic Wheel Loader
Deere debuted a new P-Tier compact wheel loader at the tail end of July 2024. The new 326 P-Tier is a Tele Lift model with a telescopic lift arm that provides 16.25 feet (4.96 meters) of vertical reach and 4.9 ft (1.5 m) of horizontal reach. Deere says the operator can effortlessly control the loader’s lifting power and extended reach with a mini-joystick on the main control lever. The 326 P also has a tight turning radius thanks to Articulation Plus steering, and it issues alerts when the machine is getting too close to its stability limits.
"Providing our customers with jobsite offerings that help boost operator confidence and machine capability are top priorities when introducing new, unique machines to our line-up of compact construction equipment, and the debut of the 326 P-Tier not only emphasizes that commitment but also helps our customers take their work to new heights," said Emily Pagura, product marketing manager, John Deere. "This model is perfect for operators of all experience levels and is equipped with easily controllable telescopic arms and an intelligent overload warning system. With these features, the 326 P-Tier is a one-of-a-kind machine made for every jobsite needing extended reach."
Deere 326 P-Tier Specifications
The new 326 P has a design similar to Deere’s 324 P-Tier compact wheel loader, but with 71 horsepower (52 kilowatts), an operating weight of 14,110 pounds (6,400 kilograms), and a bucket capacity of 0.8 to 2 yards3 (1 to 2.6 meters3). The machine’s top speed is 23 mph (37 km/h), which can amp up productivity on the farm or construction site.
The Articulation Plus steering system helps the compact 326 P maneuver in tight quarters. It adds 10 degrees of rear-wheel steering to the loader’s 30 degrees of standard articulation, which shortens the turn radius and significantly increases the full-turn tipping load.
Speaking of tipping loads, the Load Torque Indicator System of the 326 P notifies the operator with audible and visual alerts if its lifting, lowering, or extending actions approach the loader’s stability limits. At the threshold of overload, the system automatically limits the telescopic lift arm movements to motions that will return the machine to a more stable posture. This safety feature protects against overload and also helps new operators to feel more confident, according to Deere.
Standard & Optional Features
Deere designed the 326 P-Tier’s cabin for the comfort of the operator and the machine’s ease of use. A 9-inch (229-millimeter) touchscreen display supplies the usual information on the loader’s status and position, while also allowing the user to customize the electro-hydraulic controls. The operator can also reduce loading and stacking cycle times using the touchscreen to access the machine’s Auto Return-to-Dig and Auto Lift and Lower functions.
With great visibility comes great confidence, to paraphrase John Deere’s philosophy on the view from the cockpit of the 326 P. An overhead window furnishes a view to the bucket when raised and extended. The sunroof has a wiper blade and a sunshade option. Also, the compact loader’s standard brace of LED work lights can be doubled on the front and back of the machine. The same option adds lights to the telescoping boom.
