Komatsu recently introduced its latest wheel loader, the WA700-8, designed for quarry and aggregate operations. The WA700-8 can be matched with 70-ton (63.5-metric-ton) trucks like Komatsu’s HD605-10 haul truck for efficient work.

“The new WA700-8 can help quarry operations hit that sweet spot for 70-ton truck loading, making every pass count,” says Komatsu Product Manager Sebastian Witkowski. “With a heavier operating weight, greater static tipping load, and larger breakout force than the previous model, the WA700-8 is a productive and efficient wheel loader that is ideal for quarry operations.”

    About The Komatsu WA700-8

Compared to its predecessor, the WA700-8 has up to 8% more gross power, 15% more torque, and 6% more lifting force, and delivers an 8% increase in fuel efficiency. The four-wheel-drive wheel loader is powered by a 775-horsepower (578-kilowatt) 6-cylinder engine, an automatic powershift transmission, and hydraulically actuated wet multi-disc service brakes.

Operators can work in comfort with an ergonomic cab featuring an advanced joystick steering system and electronic pilot control levers for precision.

    Built For Power & Efficiency

The wheel loader has automation features to simplify repetitive tasks and help close operator skill gaps, including an automatic digging system, semi-automatic approach, and semi-automatic dump systems.

With SmartLoader Logic, the torque automatically adjusts to the task being performed to reduce fuel consumption and maintain performance during fluctuating power needs. The electronically controlled suspension absorbs the bounce and shock of the boom on uneven terrain to reduce machine pitch and bucket spillage.

The variable traction control system prevents tires from slipping over challenging terrain, and the modulated clutch system ensures precise control while transitioning between forward and reverse. The KomVision camera system is available to provide a full view of the wheel loader’s surroundings.
