Kubota recently unveiled the new SVL50x, the company’s smallest compact track loader, at the Equip Exposition tradeshow. The SVL50x is just 48 inches (1,219 millimeters) wide and will be available in the first quarter of 2025.

“With the trend of putting more houses on less land, and the space between lots getting tighter and tighter, Kubota is filling a need in the market for a narrow, cabbed track loader among construction and landscaping professionals,” says Jerry Corder, Kubota product manager, construction equipment. “The new SVL50x gives operators a smaller, feature-packed machine, some of which have never been seen on a Kubota compact track loader.”

The SVL50x comes in four models with choices ranging from a rollover protection system (ROPS)-equipped open station to a deluxe cab. Given its narrow width, it can easily navigate confined spaces and narrow paths.

    Key Specs

    • 49.6-horsepower (37-kilowatt) Kubota diesel engine
    • Rated operating capacity of 1,176 pounds (533 kilograms) at 35% of the tipping load
    • 4,900 lbs (2,222 kg) of bucket breakout force
    • Hinge pin height of 101.6 in. (2,580 mm)
    • 48 in (1,219 mm) wide, 76.5 in (1,943 mm) tall, and 92.8 in (2,357 mm) long

The SVL50x is available as a single-piece sealed cab to protect the operator from dirt, dust, debris, and rain. The 7-in. color LCD touchscreen provides access to a wide range of functions and information, including hydraulic oil and coolant temperatures, battery charge, fuel level, auxiliary mode, and the rear-view camera display.

    New Features

The SVL50x also features technologies making their first appearance in Kubota’s compact track loader lineup, including an anti-stall system and an auto-idling system that reduces engine RPM when high speed is not required and control levers are in neutral for over four seconds.

Creep mode slows the machine for operating a trencher, snowplow, and other attachments. The undercarriage suspension has mid-rollers, which are suspended by torsion axles. The Kubota Shockless Ride is also available for shock absorption during heavy-load applications.
