International’s New HV Series Trucks Are Ready To Handle Extreme Applications
At the 2018 World of Concrete event in Las Vegas, International Trucks revealed two new trucks in the severe-duty HV Series that are designed to complement the HV513 and HV613, which were released last year. These new Mid-Range Diesel (MRD) trucks, the HV507 and HV607, are focused on vocational applications and come with quite a few bells and whistles that would make them welcome on any worksite. For starters, they both come with the option of a Cummins B6.7 or Cummins L9 engine, and they also take advantage of the company’s Diamond Logic electrical system for automation and safety. The HV507 and HV607 will officially be available in March in regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab configurations.
An All-New, Driver-Focused Cab
With a focus squarely on the driver, International has rethought everything from the shifter to the dashboard, and even the doors, to ensure that drivers have everything they need to be safe and comfortable while on the road. For example, International redesigned the doors and side glass to make sure it could position mirrors in just the right location to prevent drivers from having to turn their heads too much. International also revamped the dashboard to maximize space, and there is an optional gauge upgrade for making your own custom virtual gauges. All of these small changes add up to an all-new cab design for the HV Series that drivers are sure to appreciate.
Smarter Technology For Smarter Trucks
Every entry in the HV Series of vocational trucks has an option to include the OnCommand Connection platform, which offers up remote diagnostics information that fleet managers can access anywhere via a mobile interface. This system also makes it so those same fleet managers can send updates to the engine control modules in a fleet of trucks without having to go to a third-party facility. The entire goal with OnCommand is to make sure companies have as much information as possible about their trucks, which includes getting preventative maintenance so that they spend less time in the shop and more time out on the road.
Diamond Logic is another important technology featured in the HV Series of trucks, and it’s entirely focused on automating certain tasks to encourage better efficiency and safety. In essence, Diamond Logic works as a middleman between the truck itself and the body equipment connected to it. The system comes with 200 settings right out of the factory, but with a little know-how, you can add as many automated functions as you’d like to make your International HV Series truck fit perfectly into your operation.
