Freightliner Shows Off Vocational Trucks At The 2018 Work Truck Show
Freightliner has been making a major push with its vocational trucks recently, and there’s no better place for the company to show off its progress than at the 2018 Work Truck Show, which is currently taking place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from March 6th through the 9th. Freightliner is giving attendees an up-close look at several truck models configured to take advantage of the latest Detroit engines, fine-tuned powertrains, and a vast array of connectivity services. If you plan on heading to the show today, you’ll find the Freightliner Trucks at booth #4659.
Freightliner Trucks
Freightliner’s booth will feature four Freightliner M2 106 Set-Back Axle models, two Freightliner 114SD models, and one M2 112 model. One of the Freightliner 114SD models has a Set-Forward Axle configuration with a Detroit DD13 engine and Allison 4500 RDS (Rugged Duty Series) automatic transmission, and the other has a CNG (compressed natural gas) engine from Cummins and the same Allison transmission. The Freightliner M2 112 is a Set-Back Axle CNG model that sports a Cummins engine and an Allison 3500 RDS automatic transmission.
The Freightliner M2 106 models at the booth are all in the Set-Back Axle format, but come in different configurations. One comes with a Detroit DD5 engine, while the others come with some version of the Cummins B6.7 engine. Two have Allison 2500 RDS automatic transmissions and two have the 3500 spec, but all four have the PTO (Power Take-Off) provision. Freightliner is also showing off the diversity of the line with bodies and components from Valew, Posi+, Altec, Ox Bodies, and SportChassis.
Detroit Engines
Because they play such an important role in the overall design of Freightliner vocational trucks, Detroit engines will also get some love at Freightliner’s 2018 Work Truck Show booth. Models on display include the DD5, DD8, and DD13 engines, all of which include access to the Detroit Connect Virtual Technician remote diagnostics platform, designed to monitor truck health and minimize downtime.
You’ll find a wide variety of new and used Freightliner trucks for sale on TruckPaper.com, including the company’s 114SD, M2 106, or M2 112 models.
