International Truck Releases New CV Series Class 4/5 Commercial Trucks
International Truck recently launched its new CV Series of Class 4/5 commercial trucks. Each truck in the CV Series features a 6.6-liter International engine that produces 350 horsepower and 700 pounds-foot (949.1 newton-meters) of torque. Buyers have the choice of an Allison 6-speed 1700, 1750, or 2700 Series transmission.
These trucks are available as a 4x2 with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 22,900 pounds (10,387 kilograms) or as a 4x4 with a GVWR of up to 22,500 pounds (10,206 kilograms) in either a regular cab or crew cab configuration. All told, the CV Series supports a maximum gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 37,500 pounds (17,010 kilograms).
“We've designed, built, and tested the CV Series to deliver the commercial-grade power, reliability, and practicality that growing businesses require, along with the comfort, safety features and easy drivability that drivers appreciate,” says Michael Cancelliere, president, Truck and Parts, at Navistar. “And we are backing it up with the expertise of the International dealer network, the only network in this category 100% dedicated to commercial vehicles.”
Customization & Comfort
International designed the CV Series to support a wide range of vocational truck bodies thanks to its “straight frame and rails with no rivets on the top flange” and HuckBolt chassis fasteners, according to the company. It features a dual battery box situated underneath the cab and several fuel tank and wheelbase options to free up space for job-specific bodywork. These and other configuration options make CV Series trucks suitable for work as basic utility trucks, ambulances, dump trucks, tow trucks, snow plows, and much more.
The CV Series also provides what International calls “automotive-like comfort” with an ergonomically designed interior and a wide range of standard and optional Infotainment features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility with an 8-inch (203-millimeter) touchscreen display.
