Mack Trucks Demonstrates Two Specialized Mack Granite Models At WWETT Show
Mack Trucks recently put the spotlight on two specially designed Granite vocational trucks at the 2019 Waste & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport Show (WWETT), which took place at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis at the end of February.
Two Macks
Both models have Mack mDRIVE HD automated manual transmissions with split-shaft power take-off (PTO), which allows “customers to operate auxiliary equipment that requires higher torque, including vacuum bodies, concrete pumps, or high-pressure liquid transfer applications,” according to Mack. Other shared features include Mack ClearTech One exhaust after treatment systems, FXL20 20,000-pound (9,072-kilogram) front axles, an ergonomic interior with premium seats from Sears Seating, and GuardDog telematics.
Mack Granite Axle Forward 6x4
The first Mack Granite displayed at WWETT 2019 is a 6x4 axle forward model with a Guzzler CL vacuum body. It features a Mack MP7-425M engine that produces 425 horsepower (317 kilowatts) and 1,560 pounds-foot (2,115 newton-meters) of torque as well as a 12-speed mDRIVE HD transmission. It also has a Mack PowerLeash engine brake, Mack S462R 46,000-pound (20,865-kilogram) rear axles, and an mRIDE 46,000-pound rear suspension
Mack Granite Axle Back 8x6
The second Mack Granite is an 8x6, axle back tri-drive model with WESTECH vacuum bodywork. It features a Mack MP8-455M engine that offers 455 horsepower (339.3 kilowatts) and 1,760 pounds-foot (2,386.2 newton-meters) of torque. It also has a 12-speed Mack mDRIVE AMT transmission.
