International Truck Improves HV Series With High-Visibility Configuration
International Truck introduced a new configuration for its all-wheel-drive International HV (Heavy Vocational) Series at ICUEE (International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition) 2019, which took place October 1 to 3 in Louisville, Kentucky. The new configuration features both a high visibility hood and set-back axle to improve operator visibility and truck maneuverability.
Better Around The Jobsite
International Truck designed the new configuration based on direct feedback from the vocational industry, where safety and maximum maneuverability are critical. “While the performance improvements are obvious, this configuration also helps improve safety around the worksite,” says Mark Stasell, vice president, Vocational Truck Business, Navistar. “Safety is always a top concern, and the improved visibility provides the driver with better awareness of what, and who, is around the vehicle; improving the safety of the driver, the vehicle and everyone on site.” One key use case, according to International, are utility companies working in remote areas where workers need a 4x4 chassis, optimal maneuverability, and extra safety measures.
Part Of A Bigger Picture
Improving its presence in the vocational market has been a major focus for International Truck this year. In March, for example, International launched the Diamond Partner Program to build stronger relationships and improve communication between truck equipment manufacturers and International dealers. The program, according to International, already includes more than 130 partners. “We are hard at work, listening to our customers and stakeholders to constantly improve,” says Stasell. “We’re extremely excited to have this configuration now available for our customers, and we have a number of other exciting things in the pipeline to continue our journey to becoming the premiere partner for the vocational truck industry.”
