Mack’s Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo Display Includes Granite, TerraPro & LR BEV Trucks
Mack is displaying Granite and TerraPro models at this year’s Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo, going on now at the Enercare Centre in Toronto. (The event ends this afternoon.) The company also has a display featuring the two 130-kilowatt motors and two-speed Mack Powershift transmission that are the primary drivers of the Mack LR battery electric vehicle (BEV). Two Mack LR BEV demonstrators will officially enter operation in 2020 with the New York City Department of Sanitation and Republic Services.
Mack TerraPro & Granite Models
The TerraPro and Granite models on display at the show share many of the same features, including the Mack GuardDog Connect telematics solution for vehicle health monitoring, which also integrates with Mack OneCall and Mack Over The Air. All of these technologies work together to diagnose issues, schedule maintenance and repairs, send updates remotely, and to generally keep trucks on the road and out of the shop.
The Mack TerraPro features a Labrie Wittke Starlight front loader refuse body, a Mack MP7-325M engine that produces 325 horsepower (242.4 kilowatts) and 1,225 pounds-foot (1,660 newton meters) of torque, a Mack UniMax FLX20 20,000-pound (9,072-kilogram) front axle, a Mack ControlLink III body builder module, and Sears Seating C-2 seats. The Mack Granite is an axle-forward model with a roll-off body. It features a Mack MP8-455M engine that produces 455 horsepower (340 kilowatts) and 1,760 pounds-foot (2,386 newton meters) of torque, Mack Cornerstone chassis, Mack ClearTech One exhaust aftertreatment system, and the same UniMax front axle as the TerraPro.
