Daimler Trucks North America highlighted the full breadth of its innovations at the NACV (North American Commercial Vehicle) Show. The company announced a new Dynamic Lease Program from DTF (Daimler Truck Financial) that takes advantage of telematics from the Detroit Connect Platform to create a unique financing solution that matches lease payments to billable miles. Visitors to Daimler Truck’s booth also got to see the latest Freightliner Cascadia and next-generation Detroit DD15 Gen 5 engine, among other up-and-coming technology.

    Dynamic Lease

The pay-as-you-drive lease financing will debut in 2020 (estimated Q1) on Freightliner Cascadia models featuring Detroit engines and powered by the embedded Detroit Connect Platform. Daimler Truck says the new financing option will help customers finance the next generation of connected commercial vehicles and better manage their cash flow by aligning billable miles to the lease payment. “We are excited to offer this innovative financing solution starting with the Freightliner Cascadia,” says Tobias Waldeck, head of Daimler Truck Financial. “The Dynamic Lease offers our customers an incredible amount of flexibility to manage their business and is a great complement to our other products.”

    Safer & More Efficient Cascadia

The newest Freightliner Cascadia features additional aerodynamic and powertrain management improvements that provide up to a 5% fuel efficiency gain over the previous generation. Daimler Truck had a VR experience at the booth to let visitors “test drive” safety features like Active Brake Assist 5.0, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Side Guard Assist. Daimler Truck says Cascadia is the first truck in series production in North America to offer SAE level 2 automation when equipped with the full Detroit Assurance 5.0 suite of safety systems.
