Mack Trucks Debuts MD Series Medium-Duty MD6 & MD7 Trucks At The Work Truck Show In Indianapolis
The Mack MD Series of medium-duty trucks made its public debut at the Work Truck Show, which took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from March 3-6. The new truck family currently consists of the Class 6 MD6 model and a Class 7 MD7 model, both of which are available in a 4x2 configuration with eight wheelbase lengths to choose from, allowing them to support 10- to 26-foot truck bodies. Two distinct benefits of the MD Series is that both trucks are exempt from the 12% Federal Excise Tax, and the MD6 doesn’t require a Commercial Driver’s License to operate when transporting non-hazardous loads.

Entering production in July in Roanoke Valley, Virginia, the MD Series is well-suited for a wide range of applications, including working as a dry van, dump, flatbed, reefer, tank, or stake truck. The MD6 and MD7 have gross vehicle weight ratings of 25,995 and 33,000 pounds (11,791 and 14,968 kilograms), respectively, and they have BBC (bumper-to-back-of-cab) lengths of 103 inches (2,616 millimeters). Both models also share interior and exterior design DNA with the company’s Class 8 models, including the Mack Anthem with its distinct hood and grille. Mack MD Series customers will have access to Mack OneCall via Geotab Go, a fleet management and vehicle tracking solution.
