Kenworth recently introduced three new options for its T270 and T370 medium-duty trucks, including support for roll-back flatbed bodies, CX side mirrors, and a Bendix side object detection system. (Photo courtesy of Kenworth.)

Kenworth recently revealed a few new customization options for its medium-duty T270 and T370 trucks, including the ability to add roll-back flatbed bodywork to models with the 21,000-pound (9,525-kilogram) Kenworth AG210L single-axle, two-bag rear air suspension. There is also an option to upgrade to hood-mounted CX chrome mirrors; the company says the round, convex mirrors “provide an enhanced side view and help to eliminate blind corners.”

    Safer With Bendix

Another optional feature is the latest iteration of Bendix’s side object detection system, which can now detect vehicles and other objects at distances of up to 20 feet (6.1 meters) in front of and behind the sensor. It can also filter out stationary objects when the vehicle is traveling at 20 mph (32 km/h) or faster.

    More Kenworth T270 & T370 Details

The Kenworth T270 is a Class 6 truck with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,000 lbs (11,793 kg). There is a straight truck version of the T270 available that allows for operation without a Commercial Driver’s License. The T370, which is available as a straight truck or tractor, is a Class 6 vehicle available with GVWRs of between 26,001 and 66,000 lbs (11,794 and 29,937 kg). Both trucks have options for PACCAR PX-7 or PX-9 engines that produce between 200 and 450 horsepower (149 and 336 kilowatts) and from 520 to 1,250 pounds-foot (705 to 1,695 newton-meters) of torque. Various Allison and Eaton manual and automatic transmissions are also available.
